About your rental:
The living area is about 1000 sq/ft. and includes 2 Bedrooms and 1 Full
bath, Living room, Utility room and Sun porch.
Maximum occupancy is 6 using the sleeper sofa in the living room.
The garage is not available for renters at this time.
Television, Cable & Internet connection are provided at no cost.
You will need a calling card to use the phone, most cell phones will work in
this area.
Water is "Well Water" on a water softener system. It tastes like well water! Most people
bring their own bottled water for drinking.
Garbage service.
Excellent Swimming, Skiing, Boating and Fishing.
Outdoor furniture, picnic table and gas grill are included.
Bring your boat or personal water craft. There's a
launch available at Hayes State Park (fee or permit required).
We try to maintain a smoke free/allergy free home. Sorry, but NO PETS & NO
SMOKING inside.
What should I bring?
Bed Linens and bath towels are provided and a washer & dryer are included for your use.
You will need to bring your own detergent & dryer sheets for the washer & dryer.
Paper Products such as plates, cups & napkins or paper towels are suggested,
although we do provide non-disposable plates, cups & utensils for a family of 6.
You can bring food with you, or shop in Brooklyn after you arrive. We will provide
the Dishwasher detergent.
What's in the Kitchen?
A fully supplied kitchen includes Stove, Refrigerator, Dishwasher*, Microwave &
Coffee Maker. All of the basic utensil, cups & plates are included. (*will
be installed sometime during the season but may not be available for your week).
Dishwasher detergents are provided.
Can I invite guests to the cottage?
Yes, your guests are welcome but they are not permitted to stay. A
maximum of 6 guests are allowed. You are responsible for the conduct of you
guests. The maximum occupancy that may stay in the cottage shall not exceed 6.
Who cleans the property? Is there a laundry available?
The cottage is cleaned before you arrive. No maid
service is provided during your stay. There is a checklist which
details the things that you will need to do before you check-out. A copy of this
list is included with the contract. Also available for viewing under
Rental Agreement.
A washer and dryer are available in the cottage. These are normal duty
appliances. If you have large or heavily soiled items, you will need to
use the laundry in Brooklyn.
Can I bring my own boat or personal water craft?
Yes. A boat launch is available at Walter J
Hayes State Park. A dock is not available on the property but anchor posts are
available if you wish to leave your boat in the water. There should be enough room in the driveway for your trailer.
Wamplers Lake is patrolled by the Jackson & Lenawee County Sheriffs Office. Make sure you
bring all necessary safety items and follow the rules for a safe boating
vacation.
A note to the fisherman:
Please clean your catch outside and dispose of the waste in the outside garbage
cans. Do not clean your catch in the house or dispose of the waste in the
kitchen garbage.
What about damages?
We understand that things can get broken. In most cases,
minor damages such as broken glasses or dishes are normal and you won't be
charged for these types of repairs or replacements. Items in this home are kept
in good working order. If something fails due to no fault of your own, don't
worry. Broken furniture, damaged walls, doors or appliances are your
responsibility. You will be expected to pay the full cost for any damage to the property that
you or your guests may cause. Your $250 security deposit will be used for
repairs if necessary. Likewise, if you see damages from a previous renter,
please report it to the manager ASAP during your stay.
When will my Security Deposit
be returned?
Your deposit will be mailed to you
in 30 days. It's held for one billing cycle to insure that no phone usage or
cable movies were charged to the property owner.
What if something happens/quits working or we need help during our
vacation?
The property manager lives next door. If you need assistance, they will be glad
to help you.
Conduct during your stay with
us:
We want this to be an enjoyable vacation and hope to see you again next year. In
fact, we want you to enjoy it enough that you would recommend us to your friends
and family. Common courtesy for our friends and
neighbors is important to us. Loud music/partying (inside or out), behavior that
is deemed inappropriate or complaints by the neighbors will not be
tolerated. You are not on your own property and can be arrested if your are
exhibiting disorderly, drunken or drug related behavior. It will be the option
of the manager to personally deal with any situation, or contact the local,
county or state police. You can be evicted, loose your rental fee and security
deposit.
